What is dust made out of?
Fact: Dust in your home or workplace is made of just about everything, but mostly you find human skin flakes, hair, and a mixture of materials. That can include: decomposing insect parts, pet dander, waxes, pollen grains, mould, fungi, fibers from fabrics such as wool, nylon, rayon, plant and vegetable matter, insulation, sand, pollution such as auto and industrial emissions, lots of food waste, and loads of paper.
What is mould?
There are more mould spores in the air than any other biological particle.
Fact: Moulds are plants that make spores instead of seeds which float in the air like pollen, and settle on surfaces. When mould spores, they land on a damp spots and they may begin to grow and multiply. Moulds release toxins primarily to poison other moulds from growing in the area. They are a common trigger for allergies and it can be a health hazard.
What Are Germs?
There are four major types of germs: bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protozoa. They can invade plants, animals, and people, and sometimes they make us sick.
Fact: Some viruses and bacteria can live 2 hours or longer on surfaces like cafeteria tables, doorknobs, desks, keyboards, and light switches.
